In this session, 5 presenters from 4 different disciplines and 4 different countries share their perspectives about CUEING MOVEMENT related to fitness, rehab, and activities of daily living.
Is "belly button to the spine" a valuable cue? Is there something better?
What are the best ways to cue short foot?
How can we be mindful of inclusivity in the language we use to cue movement?
Registration includes certificate of attendance, brief topic outline, and recording of the session.

Mutiibwa Allan is a Physiotherapist based in Kampala, Uganda. Trained in NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT), Dynamic NeuroMuscular Assessment(DNA) and also a Manual and Movement Therapist (MMT). Mutiibwa is very passionate about helping people live quality lives through education and movement!
Dr. Dhairya (aka Dr. D) is the chief physical therapist and founding partner of FITNAT, LLP. He loves working with calisthenics athletes and, although based in India, has been working online since 2018 with people across the globe including in Canada, America, Europe and Australia. Dr. D's passion is to provide simplified education along with treatment/training. He prides himself on being able to explain complex concepts in an effective, digestible way and creating training programs that are sustainable and cognizant of peoples injuries and abilities.
Alesia Komarnisky is a yoga teacher in Nova Scotia, Canada with training in Hatha, Vinyasa, Chair, Laughter, Pre/Post Natal, Seniors and Yin yoga. Alesia is tongue position obsessed and will be sharing her perspective about this often mis-cued movement in her presentation. She has a fun and accessible approach to her yoga and is a big nerd when it comes to learning, and growing as a movement pro.
Shannon Kroetch is a Massage Therapist also in Nova Scotia, Canada. She has training as a yoga teacher and merges her knowledge to help her clients see their true potential for pain free, fearless movement. She uses functional and alignment based assessment to establish goals for care, and actively involves her clients in the process. She will be sharing her thoughts regarding movement cues from the perspective of inclusivity and with a trauma-informed approach.
Matt Sloan is a certified Occupational Therapy Assistant specializing in sensory integration therapy, and his practice is based in Washington State, USA. He is also a fitness pro, coach, and adaptive PE teacher involved in education for over 25 years, working with kids and adults of all abilities. Matt runs Sensory Fitness, a program developed to incorporate sensory integration, fitness, games, and activities to build healthy bodies and organized minds.
